Why George

“George Henry Sanders (3 July 1906 – 25 April 1972) was an English film and television actor, singer-songwriter, music composer, and author. His career as an actor spanned more than 40 years. His upper-class English accent and bass voice often led him to be cast as sophisticated but villainous characters. He is perhaps best known as Jack Favell in Rebecca (1940), Scott Folliott in Foreign Correspondent (1940), Addison DeWitt in All About Eve (1950), King Richard the Lionheart in King Richard and the Crusaders (1954), Mr. Freeze in a two-parter episode of Batman (1966), the voice of the malevolent man-hating tiger Shere Khan in Disney’s The Jungle Book (1967), and as Simon Templar, “The Saint”, in five films made in the 1930s and 1940s.”  Wikipedia

He was an actor in over 100 films and a number of television shows. George was married four times including to two sisters, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Magda Gabor. (Nancy, my wife, is one of four sisters and this last fact gives me shudders).

George also committed suicide at the age of 65. He left behind three suicide notes, one of which read:

“Dear World, I am leaving because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool. Good luck.”

In general, people try to kill themselves for six reasons:

  1. They’re depressed.
  2. They’re psychotic.
  3. They’re impulsive.
  4. They’re crying out for help.
  5. They have a philosophical desire to die.
  6. They’ve made a mistake.

Marrying two sisters could be signs of being depressed and psychotic.

Boredo ???? Why George? You picked a disappointing way to end an admired career and life.
