In 1993 the first Christmas for Boyd & Nicholas, Inc. we sent out about 40 Christmas cards. They went to our 17 clients, colleagues and Medicare government officials. One Medicare auditor, considered to be an SOB to providers, called me (pre email folks) and thanked me for the card. He said it was the only Christmas card he ever got. He continued to be an SOB to deal with and anything else would have been a surprise. We received about 30 cards from clients and vendors.
Over the years our Christmas card list grew. Every year’s card was a Lighthouse and the stamps were also lighthouses, when available, or seasonal Christmas stamps. In 2013 the last Christmas for Boyd & Nicholas, Inc. we sent out close to 500 cards to our over 300 clients, colleagues and Medicare government officials. Like in 1993 we received about 30 cards.
The definition of “Christmas card” is a greeting sent at Christmas or a greeting card for expressing good wishes in the Christmas season. I miss sending out Christmas cards from Boyd & Nicholas, Inc. Nancy, my wife, sends about 80 cards and is kind enough to put my name to them also.
The first Christmas card was sent in 1883 and the last card to be sent will be by Nancy. I missed the first card and hope to miss her last card too.
Most Christmas cards and season’s greetings are now sent via e-mail. The thought is still nice.
Wishing you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come.
