Senior

Comments by Tom Boyd

When I started at Blue Cross of Northern California in 1977 my goal was to become a Senior Auditor (supervisor not being an option as I preferred making providers miserable in the field rather than sitting behind a desk). I was a good Senior Auditor.

When I left the “blues” for Brecker, Brewster and Grove in 1989 I became a Senior Consultant defending the abused home health providers from the merciless and ruthless intermediary auditors. I was a good Senior Consultant.

Now that I am qualified for some senior discounts and later this century for Medicare I can’t help thinking that the meaning of “Senior” has changed and it does not give me the warm glow it used to.

Now my favorite title is Gramps.
